If they did not respond they broke down the door. then they had a cheek list of pepole and if they could not locate them and emencey numbers they went back and cheeked again. your mama did the right thing. My maama said to tell you mama to put the passports and importent stuff in a fire safe box. We read a story one time of a cat who only got her treats in her PTU so that if there was ever an emergency and the owner shook the treat jar, the cat would run to the PTU and get in it.
